Leno Morfin was born July 10, 1954, in a little village of the Sierra Madre in Mexico and since his childhood always had a passion for creation. His curiosity led him to explore his artistic nature in different kinds of trades like shoemaking and fine carpentry, painting and sculpture. In 1970 at the age of sixteen, his family immigrated to the United States.
For the next twenty years he took on many artistic challenges which always led him to painting. To this he quotes, "Life is like a toy store filled with many exciting toys, which makes it difficult to decide which one to choose. We almost forget, though, that within oneself we have the best toy we will ever own."
Throughout his voyage, he discovered the man within. His visions led him to create a simple yet passionate work with the use of ardent colors in oil and acrylic. In 1994, Mr. Louis Durot discovered Leno's art work in Chicago. Since then Leno has been exhibiting his art throughout the US and the world, in countries like China, France, Germany and Mexico among others.
With the exhibition "The Dreams to See" in June of last year, Leno returned to Mexico and was well received in Puerto Vallarta where he found his present home. The expo at Los Mangos Public Library invited everyone to discover the new planet of dreams hidden within the powerful paintings.
After a few smaller shows during the rainy season, Leno left his public astonished with his colorful expo "Pasión por Vivir" at De Santos restaurant, where the passionate arts of painting and gourmet cooking were combined and the artist himself was soon known as "the man who paints as he loves, loves as he cooks, and cooks as he paints."
Currently, Leno's art can be found in the new Habitares art and design studio on Morelos Street in downtown Puerto Vallarta, as well as Patty Gallardo's Gallery in the Romantic Zone, and the Hotel des Artistes in Punta de Mita, Nayarit.
