Mexico's Economy Grows in 1st Quarter in Rebound from Crisis

Mexico City - Mexico's economy is surging out of the global economic crisis, recording growth of 4.3 percent in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period last year.
The National Statistics Institute figure reported Thursday shows the first year-on-year growth in more than a year.
Mexico's gross domestic product fell 6.5 percent for 2009 as a whole - the worst figure for any country in Latin America.
