| For more information about the ultimate fishing, golf and spa adventure benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, visit HookTheCure.com. | | All-time Cy Young Award winner, Roger Clemens, who played for the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros and New York Yankees is one of only four pitchers to have more than 4,000 strikeouts in their career will join Jim Lonborg who played 15-years with the Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies and Matt Young, best known for his unofficial no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians while a member of the Boston Red Sox at Hook the Cure this October to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The catch-and-release IGFA-qualifier, slated for October 21-24, has raised more than $1.3 million USD over the last four years. Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects 70,000 adults and children.
Weekend festivities will include: a pre-tournament Mexican fiesta at Villa Premiere Hotel and Spa; golf at the spectacular Vista Vallarta; a lively dockside weigh-in party with food and beverage; relaxing spa packages; headliner entertainment and an awards gala and auction hosted by Los Angeles radio personality Shawn Parr.
The charity outing is sponsored by IOTEC, BJ’s Restaurants, American Airlines, Norm Wilson & Sons, O’Connell Family Foundation, Skipper & Dukes Offshore Fishing Series and Watson Land Company. Local volunteers, here in PV, are coordinated by PVRPV.com.
