(Presidencia de la República) | | Mexico City - President Felipe Calderón declared that organized crime will only be defeated through reliable intelligence measures, strategy and police, since it is a common enemy that jeopardizes the lives, freedom and assets of our people.
“We agreed that putting a halt to this scourge requires international cooperation, and the exchange of information and experiences.
Moreover, each country must development effective internal policies based on a state vision and the union of all political and social forces,” he said.
During the closing ceremony of the Fifth Summit of the Latin American and Caribbean Summit on Police Intelligence, the Mexican president highlighted the importance of Latin American union in combating this scourge to stop crime.
“Organized crime is based on division. The enemy advances when there is disagreement between those of us that have the duty to confront it. As long as a country and society remain united and as long as Latin American and Caribbean nations remain united, we will be capable of stopping criminals that affect all of us across the board,” he explained.
