Forceful Condemnation of Murder of Edelmiro Cavazos Leal

Los Pinos - The Presidency reports that President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa forcefully condemned the murder of Edelmiro Cavazos Leal, Mayor of the Municipality of Santiago, Nuevo León.
The Calderón Zavala family expressed their solidarity with Mayor Cavazos Leal's family at this difficult time.
The President also instructed Interior Secretary José Francisco Blake Mora to travel to Nuevo León to evaluate the security situation with the state government and help the authorities investigate this unfortunate case.
Federal Government confirmed its commitment to citizens’ safety and the fight against organized crime.
