Located at the intersection of Fco. Medina Ascencio and the Libramiento bypass road, this sculpture was created by Jalisco artist Adrian Reynoso and represents a stylized angel that symbolizes the freedom brought by the struggle launched on September 16, 1810.
Bicentenary Victory joins an increasing number of public sculptures that have long been an important attraction in Puerto Vallarta, beginning with the popular Malecón sculptures, which attract thousands of tourists every year.
Just after the unveiling, the authorities celebrated the 156th anniversary of the National Hymn with a civic ceremony in front of City Hall where they sang the verses that Francisco Gonzalez Bocanegra wrote accompanied by Jaime Nuno’s music.
