(photo by VallartaOpina.net) | | With the coming together of the community and the desire to support the families who need our help in Tabasco and Veracruz, Puerto Vallarta continues to reign among those who have responded positively in the campaign to collect food, clothing and personal hygiene items, supporting the City Council through the Kid's Club 'Magical World' and the DIF.
Costco and Peninsula Plaza joined in this noble effort and were recognized by Puerto Vallarta Mayor, Salvador Gonzalez Resendiz, who applauds these responsible companies in their support of the unfortunate citizens who lost their homes and properties in the wake of Hurricane Karl's severe flooding.
Costco's Marketing Manager, Fabiola Figueroa, made it possible to have more than 120 items donated and delivered, within two days, to the Peninsula Square Mall, where all the items were received personally by the company's president.
We thank the joint effort by these two great companies in donating the items and preparing the Peninsula Plaza Mall to function as a repository and storage area and to all the individuals helping to support this worthwhile cause.
Your Help is Needed:
This event was attended by the president of DIF, Celina Lomeli Ramirez Yessenia Palacios Rivera, coordinator of the Kid's Club 'Magical World,' who announced that the Peninsula Square Mall will remain open until Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm, so the public is invited to continue participating in this important cause by bringing products such as bottled water, toilet paper, diapers, sanitary towels, canned food, personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste), blankets, mattresses and inflatable beds, lamps and batteries, as well as raincoats and umbrellas.
Also, the Offices of Social Communication will continue to receive donations. They are located on the second floor of the Presidency, from 8 am to 4 pm, including Saturday and Sunday, and they will also collect donations in Pitillal Square and Hidalgo Park after 10 am.
The assistance provided by both companies, as well as thousands of Vallarta citizens, is a great symbol of solidarity in helping thousands of families who, in many cases, lost everything including the roof over their heads. Therefore, it is important to support these victims with all that is possible.
It should be noted that all donations collected will be delivered to the Municipal DIF System who are in charge of getting it to its destination.
