| Southern California Overdue for 'The Big One,' study show | | Baja California, Mexico - A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Baja California early Tuesday.
The quake hit around 3:52 a.m. and was centered 42 miles southwest of San Luis, a Yuma County border town in southwest Arizona, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The preliminary magnitude was 5.4, however, the number was later downgraded to 5.0.
Residents reported that the quake felt like a brief jolt.
There are no reports of damage or injuries.
