TELMEX Will Continue Price Reductions in 2011 Telmex.com go to original October 19, 2010
TELMEX recently reported to its customers and the general public that the prices of their products and services will continue to be reduced during 2011. By doing so, the company continues to demonstrate its policy and commitment to support the economies of Mexican families and businesses, as it has for 11 consecutive years.
Basic telephone services, which includes monthly rent, metered service, installation charges and long distance have been reduced in real terms, from 1991 to date, 76 percent. Telmex has achieved high indexes of efficiency and productivity in their operation in these years, which translates to the benefit of all its customers, with a consequent reduction in their prices.
Telmex has also decided to continue reducing nominal prices of their packages with Infinitum so that the increase of 1% added value tax (VAT), as well as 3% of the special tax on production and services (IEPS) on telecommunications services, which came into effect on January 1st, will not affect their customers, since the prices of these packages, inclusive of tax, do not change.
In the packages with Infinitum, users gain additional savings of up to 44% in the monthly rental, local calls, national and international long distance calls, digital services and access to the Internet.
