(The News)
The parliamentary group of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in the Chamber of Deputies will propose the creation of a “National Security System,” which would include the three branches of power. The main objective of the system would be the creation of strategies to combat organized crime.

The PRI further stated that state governors, the mayor of Mexico City, and state legislative authorities would also be part of the system.

César Augusto Santiago Ramírez, a PRI federal Deputy, will submit an agreement to the Chamber of Deputies, via coordinators of different parliamentary groups. The agreement will call on the Senate, the Judicial Power, and the Executive Power to create the “National Security System.”

The PRI stated that the system would include one representative per government branch, one for the governors, and one for local congresses. The system would hold meetings every month to verify the implementation and strategies of certain plans to combat crime.

Furthermore, the system would be the only one authorized to issue public notifications, launch mass information campaigns and make official announcements in relation to the system itself.

Finally, Santiago pointed out that the creation of said system is necessary and that investing money for more equipment and uniforms for police forces does not solve anything. He said that the Chamber of Deputies must rely on the Judicial and Executive Powers to asses the current situation and ultimately form a new order.
