Retail sales in Mexico grew a seasonally-adjusted 0.67% month-on-month in October, compared to 0.06% increase in September, the statistical office INEGI said Monday.
Year-on-year, retail sales increased 4.4% in October, slower than a 4.1% rise in the previous month. Economists had expected a 4.8% increase.
Meanwhile, growth in wholesale trade accelerated to 2.4% from 0.5% in the previous month. Month-on-month, wholesale trade increased 1.94%.
For the first ten months of the year, retail sales grew 2.4% compared to the same period last year. During the period, wholesale sales climbed 3.3%.
