Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - From March 22-27th, Puerto Vallarta will celebrate World Water Week with a series of informational programs and activities hosted by Seapal.

Under the theme Water for the City, Responding to the Urban Challenge, Seapal will introduce topics about the system of services in drinking water, drainage and sewage. "We are hoping to raise the awareness of the population of the importance of caring for this vital liquid," states Humberto Muñoz Vargas.

Activities for the week begin on March 22, with "Water Week in Schools," presented at the Guadalupe Martínez Villanueva primary school (Infonavit CTM) at 8 am. At 6 pm, "Water Culture in the Colonias" will begin in Colonia Vista Oceano and Seapal Vallarta will be visiting other colonias where drinking water and sewage services will be discussed.

On Wednesday, March 23, 9:30 am, activities will be at CUC in coordination with students at the Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG), seeking to promote the value of water. At 6:00 pm, the "Water Culture in the Colonias" will take place in Colonia Lomas de San Nicolas.

On Thursday, the presentation on the current situation and requirement of drinking water and sanitation will be presented at El Progreso colony at 6:00 pm.

On Friday at 7:30 pm, in Fluvial Vallarta (UNIRSE Building, at the corner of Grandes Lagos & Carlos Jungitud Barrios) there will be a "Global Cooling and Global Warming" conference led by prominent columnist Carlos Marin, which will be free to the general public.

Saturday's activities begin at 9:00 am and run until 6:00 pm at the Agustín Flores Contreras sports stadium in preparation for the 5K race, which begins at 7 am on Sunday morning. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the San Juan Diego and Casa Hogar charitable organizations.

Seapal reiterates that these activities are intended to promote and disseminate information about the water culture, creating awareness in the community for actions aimed at the conservation, development and responsible use of our water resources.
