Volunteer Docent Training Day – Saturday, April 9th
To better serve our garden visitors, we are hosting another Volunteer Docents Training Day. We are looking for those who can make a weekly commitment to the gardens for the majority of the year. In return, each docent receives a complementary membership to the gardens and is invited to attend all educational programs at the gardens free of charge. They will be fed breakfast and lunch with the other workers any day they serve as a volunteer.
Knowledge of plants is a plus, but we will teach anyone with a willing attitude and a love of working with people. Volunteer Docents duties include guiding interpretive tours.
Registration for our docent training is at 9:30 am on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Trainees will receive educational materials and be taken on a tour of the Gardens with the Curator and Executive Director. Presentations will be in both English and Spanish, however volunteer docents do not need to be bilingual.
Please email info(at)vallartabotanicalgardensac.org by Friday, April 8th to reserve a spot in our training program.
