July 27, 2011

Hubert and Polly celebrated their 60th anniversary with friends at Binion's Casino in Las Vegas.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Hubert Vicars, a.k.a. 'Husband,' died July 25, 2011 in CMQ Premier of a massive heart attack spurred by complications from pneumonia. He and Polly had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Las Vegas with 16 friends and family on July 4. He turned 83 on July 16.

Hubert was a graduate engineer from the University of Kentucky and was president of his own Engineering Consulting Firm, Central Associated Engineers, in Versailles, Kentucky. He was an authority on Catenary Curves in the electric transmission industry and wrote the definitive book on the subject.

He was active in many community services since retiring to Puerto Vallarta in August of 1988, but his primary passion was Becas Vallarta, A.C./The America-Mexico Foundation, Inc.

There will be no service and expressions of condolence should be in the form of donations to Becas Vallarta, A.C. or the America-Mexico Foundation, Inc.

In Puerto Vallarta donations can be delivered or sent to Carl Johnson, Treasurer, Molino de Agua 507, 95 Aquiles Serdan, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco or from the United States mailed to Becas Vallarta, 2163 Lima Loop, PMB 130-380, Laredo, TX 78045-6420. Checks may be made to Becas Vallarta, A.C. or America-Mexico Foundation, Inc.

Everyone here at BanderasNews extends our deepest condolences to his wife Polly, his family, and any friends reading this for their loss. Hubert was a kind, charming and wonderful man, who touched the lives of many here in Vallarta. His quick wit and smiling face will be sorely missed.
