Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Mayor Salvador González Resendiz recently visited the site of the Las Juntas-Ixtapa highway extension and reported that the first stage is 90 percent complete, and should be finished in the next 20 days.
According to Mayor González Resendiz, this highway improvement, which is vital to residents of this area of the city, meets the highest quality standards of workmanship and materials, which means this road should have a lifespan of more than 50 years and low maintenance costs.
Some weeks ago, Resendiz, accompanied by municipal and State authorities, opened the first two lanes of the highway, which in its first phase has a length of 1 kilometer 100 meters. The new system provides for water drainage, thus solving many of the problems that local residents have dealt with for many years, especially during the rainy season.
These works are being carried out with an investment of $30 million 400 thousand pesos, which is shared equally by the municipal and state governments, through FONDEREG.
This is a joint task to provide the residents and visitors of Puerto Vallarta a better quality of life in supplying a timely response to their needs for highway travel and safety.
