Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Both Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta will be seeking to capture the attention of the most important journalists in Latin America at the International Journalists Convention. The event, announced on August 18, is being organized by Red Radio Universidad de Guadalajara in Puerto Vallarta, and will take place on September 8 and 9.
According to the Centro Universitario de la Costa and Red Radio Universidad de Guadalajara, the touristic industry in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit is making a joint promotional effort with the objective of promoting the attractions in our region in anticipation of the Tianguis Turístico 2012.
"We decided to create something unique to celebrate the 10 years of Radio Universidad de Guadalajara. We could've thrown a party or a dinner, but we chose to make something that went beyond that, that would leave us all with something and that would allow us to present the reality of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit to the journalists," said the Dean of the Puerto Vallarta Campus, Max Greig.
Journalists as important as Lucía Navarro, CNN news anchor, Javier Solórzano, head of the morning news at Radio 13 in Mexico City, José Ramón Fernández, an icon of sports journalism who works for ESPN and Radio Fórmula, Edgardo Claudio Matei, ESPN producer, Obed Arango, who specializes in migratory topics from Philadelphia, renowned caricaturists from Guadalajara: Falcon, Jis and Trino, and Alejandro Almazán, who writes for newspapers such as Milenio, Reforma and El Universal, are among the many journalists that will participate in the event, and will be able to directly experience Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta.
"We think this is the best opportunity for these journalists to experience our region, to get to know the way we welcome tourists, the natural appeal of our region and the first-class infrastructure that can be found here," said Salvador Peña, head of the Puerto Vallarta Convention and Visitors Bureau.
