Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Tourism’s new worldwide trends have begun generating effective hotel trends. It is precisely because of this that Puerto Vallarta will host a number of hotel viability workshops throughout the month of September.
Amongst the Tourism Department’s main objectives lays the ability to convey attainable goals and targets within the country’s most important destinations and tourism sectors. The project, entitled 'Mexico’s Viable Tourism Program' was launched back in 2002.
One of the program’s main strategies is that of implementing viability certificates amongst Mexico’s tourism destinations and related companies. Said companies are currently receiving more interest from tourists who aim to have a less harmful impact on the environment.
Studies show that tourists are willing to pay more for hotels that are environmentally-friendly and have a certification to back them up. Likewise, these certifications cater well to companies seeking to attract markets with higher spending power, that in turn generate a reduction in hotel costs.
The Tourism Department will conduct a Hotel Viability Workshop in conjunction with the Australian company, EarthCheck, that will take place here in Puerto Vallarta on September 6th and 7th, 2011.
