Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Mijo! Brands in collaboration with the Puerto Vallarta Conventions and Visitors Bureau and Canacao Servytur recently hosted the first in a series of training workshops to provide local businesses with training and tools to promote the destination online.
The main purpose of the workshop was to share strategies and knowledge on how SMEs can incorporate the online business culture in their companies. Daniel Gómez, Strategy Director Mijo! Brands shared strategies and leading technologies readily available to business to allow ecommerce, that could be implemented in their websites to do business online.
During the workshop, Daniel Gómez commented on the benefits that some companies could obtain by integrating a reservation engine, highlighting expenses reduction, improvement of control systems and evaluation of results in real time, among many others.
The 'Subete al Tren' (Get on Board the Train) campaign promoting the use of Web, Social Media and Social Network strategies amongst businesses in Puerto Vallarta, was held at the premises of Canaco Servytur on Thursday 6 October from 6-8 pm. The first Workshop focused on enhancing ecommerce opportunities for Vallarta businesses and was attended by over 80 participants.
Elidee Hernández, Social Media Strategist at Mijo! Brands, presented on the hugely popular online collective purchases strategies that include Groupon, Cupocity and a host of other platforms. The 40 minute presentation explained the benefits and pitfalls of the various online tools available on the Internet and explained step by step how this new trend works. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session.
The Puerto Vallarta CVB and Canaco Servytur are collaborating with Mijo! Brands to create a culture and awareness of the online social environment that is intended to promote and support all entrepreneurs in Puerto Vallarta. The series of work shops are being provided at no cost to participants.
The first in a series of planned workshops comes 2 weeks after the successful launch of the Subete al Tren conference at the Teatro Vallarta, which saw the participation of an estimated 650 local business and government leaders. The conference is part of the CVB's campaign to galvanize local businesses to collectively promote Puerto Vallarta through social media and social networks.
Subete al Tren is intended to support the CVB´s official Puerto Vallarta website and social media strategy. The CVB has invested an estimated $150,000 USD in enhancing its online presence to compete with national and global tourist destinations. The campaign includes the use of Twitter, Facebook, Four Square, YouTube and TripAdvisor amongst other social media and social network tools.
