Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Last Saturday 500 people enjoyed the new ice rink in El Pitillal. If you have not been there yet, this week will be the last you can enjoy the rink at no charge, as it is scheduled to be moved to the public square in Ixtapa on January 16th.
Just before 10 am on Saturday, children and teen agers lined up for their chance to skate on the ice rink. They were asked to remove their shoes and place them in the boxes where they found the ice skates to put on before sitting down to listen carefully to the instructions given by the girls responsible for guiding them on the ice.
A municipal civil protection unit was on site to ensure the safety of children and teens who used the synthetic ice rink.
According to the ice rink's service director, Paloma Pérez Cabrera, the track came from the state of Veracruz and will remain in the greater Puerto Vallarta area for a total of 4 months.
