Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Those who appreciate cultural experiences will love the month of May in Puerto Vallarta. Every year, the Festival Cultural de Mayo brings a variety of local, national and international artists to the city's historic downtown area, where they showcase their talents in public presentations to the delight of local and visitors alike.

Dance, music, poetry, art, theater, ethnical demonstrations, movie screenings, food tastings, and social gatherings are among the many cultural activities to be enjoyed in Puerto Vallarta during the last two weeks of the month.

The Province of Quebec is the guest of honor at this year's Festival Cultural de Mayo, with various Canadian artists participating in the areas of dance, music and visual arts. Their talents are intermingled with those of our local artists, including Melissa Castle (dance), Emmanuell Rangel (mime), Conny Celis (singer), Diana Godínez (cellist and painter), and Jaime Roman (percussionist) among others, making this a great time to visit Vallarta!

Vallarta's Anniversary Celebration

Puerto Vallarta will commemorate its 94th anniversary as a city and 44th as a municipality with an award ceremony for local outstanding personalities at City Hall, live music and dancing on the Malecón, and a fantastic fireworks display over Banderas Bay.

In addition to the city's Festival Cultural de Mayo, you can also enjoy Vallarta Restaurant Week, as well as exciting outdoor activities taking place throughout to the Banderas Bay region, like the Bucerías Wind Festival and the San Blas International Fishing Tournament.
