Adiós to Paper Invoices in Mexico
Beginning January 1, 2014, paper invoices (facturas) will no longer be accepted in Mexico. For that reason, the Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT) said all businesses which provide invoices must switch to electronic invoices (facturas electrónicas) within the next two months. Director of SAT, Aristóteles Núñez, advised there are a series of authorized and certified businesses, including SAT, offering their services to produce electronic invoices. Approximately 14 million businesses nationally will make the switch from paper to the Internet when providing invoices for clients beginning next year.
Tapestry Exhibition at Peter Gray Art Museum
The Peter Gray Art Museum is kicking off a new season of artistic events on Friday, November 22nd at 5 pm, when thirty international weavers from around Latin America and the U.S. will be exhibiting a diverse collection of original tapestries. Under the direction of world-renowned weaver Jean Pierre Larochette, who's last exhibit in Puerto Vallarta was at the Museo de Arte Peter Gray in 2012, this new exhibition features his works of art as well as those of 30 of his contemporaries. The Museo de Arte Peter Gray is located on the Centro Universitario de la Costa campus, just a few miles north of the airport. If driving, proceed north on Highway 200 to the major intersection just past Home Depot, turning right at the sign pointing to "Ixtapa." Proceed on this highway for about one mile remaining alert for a sign on the right at a traffic signal directing you to "CUC." After entering the main gate, park in the lot on the right. The walk to the museum is a short 200 yards along the beautiful main campus walkway, shaded by ficus trees.
Southside Shuffle Resumes November 15
Every other Friday from 6 to 10 pm, Puerto Vallarta's Zona Romantica is bustling with activity, as locals and tourists head over to Basilio Badillo to do the Southside Shuffle. Now in its fourth year, this bi-weekly event offers a mix of culture, cocktails and music that gives everyone a chance to hang out with old friends and meet new ones - and the perfect excuse to shop for clothing, jewelry, art, and home decor items in one of Vallarta's best shopping areas. Along the way you can stop for a bite to eat, a cocktail and conversation, or to dance to the music provided by strolling musicians. The fiesta hits the street every other Friday from 6-10 pm, so come on out and enjoy cocktails, live music, and "Shuffling" between Basilio Badillo businesses on: November 15 & 29 • December 13 & 27 • January 10 & 24 • February 7 & 21 • March 7 & 21 • April 4
