Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Raintree Resorts International is joining the international community in celebrating Earth Hour for the fourth consecutive year. A "highly visible" symbolic act, Earth Hour is intended to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change by encouraging homes and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour.
This year's Earth Hour will occur at 8:30 pm local time on March 29, when Raintree Resorts across Mexico and the United States will turn off all non-essential lights for one hour. Some of Raintree's resorts in Mexico will also have special events to mark the occasion. "Raintree is proud to join millions of people around the world in celebrating Earth Hour," said Olivia Galeana, Club Regina Los Cabos General Manager. "It's a great opportunity for us to promote a very worthwhile cause, while holding fun events for our guests. It's a win-win situation."
Raintree's Club Regina Los Cabos, Club Regina Puerto Vallarta, and Club Regina Cancun will offer guests contests, shows, and a special Earth Hour buffet stocked with delicious food. Villa Vera Puerto Mio Zihuatanejo will also have a special three-course Earth Hour menu.
Earth Hour is organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature each year to promote environmental sustainability and awareness. The worldwide event encourages individuals, businesses, communities, and local and national governments to turn off all non-essential lights for one hour in the evening, a symbolic gesture of support for the environment. Visit Earth Hour's website for more information about the movement.
