Mexico City, Mexico - Yelp, the company that connects consumers with great local businesses, has announced the availability of "Yelp Mexico."
People throughout Mexico are now able to create accounts on Yelp Mexico to share their opinions about great local businesses. Their free iPhone and Android applications will be available as well as its free suite of business owner tools: Yelp for Business Owners.
"Mexico is a vibrant mosaic of micheladas, mole, and muralism, just to name a few of its cultural contributions," says Miriam Warren, VP of New Markets. "Whether you're looking for a taco fix, a refreshing pulque, or a beautiful alebrije for your home, locals will now be able to find their favorite businesses on Yelp."
The corporation extends its Latin American footprint with the launch of Mexico, the 25th country to develop a community of Yelpers who take pride in highlighting the best of Mexico, wherever they are. Mexico City will see the initial focus of Yelp community building efforts and will be home to Yelp's first Community Manager in Mexico, but the full-featured site will be available across the whole of Mexico.
Everyone, everywhere in Mexico with access to the internet on a desktop or a smartphone now has the ability to share their insights on what is good, great, and not-so great about local businesses in their neighborhoods. This can be done in any one of the 14 different languages currently supported by Yelp, and for any business ranging from shoe repairers to cocktail bars and carpet cleaners to taco vendors.
