Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - 'A Profile of Whale Watching in the Bay of Banderas,' a poster presentation submitted by Centro Universitario de la Costa graduate student Rocío Jazmín Rosas Puga, won first place in the "Moving Towards New Tourism Scenarios" competition at the 8th International Congress of Tourism in the Caribbean.
Organized by the Academic Staff of Research and Education for Tourism Competitiveness at the University of Quintana Roo, the 8th International Congress of Tourism in the Caribbean was held at the University's Academic Unit in Cozumel from June 18 to 21, 2014. The conference-workshop brought together national and international experts to discuss issues of tourism and to share, analyze, evaluate, and discuss new developments, studies and ideas. This eighth edition was the first time that the Centro Universitario de la Costa presented to the Congress.
Out of the 13 contestants and 21 authors who entered the contest, Rocío Jazmín Puga, a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Administration program and CUCosta Regional and Tourism Analysis Academicians collaborator, won first place in the competition. Rocío presented a scientific poster with research results with the support of co-author, Aldyk Corona, a student at UNIVA Puerto Vallarta. The poster's design and its submission (originality, clarity and certainty) was qualified by five judges from different universities.
Rocio worked under the tutelage of CUCosta teachers: Dra. Rosa Maria Chavez Dagostino, Lic. José Luis Cornejo Ortega and Myrna Leticia Bravo Ornelas, all of whom are CUCosta Regional and Tourism Analysis Academicians.
CUCosta, and everyone here at BanderasNews.com, congratulates Rocío for this great achievement!
