Guadalajara, Jalisco - Mexico will host the 2014 World Conference on Information Technology in September, in what will be its first time in a Latin American country.
Held every two years since 1978, the international conference brings together corporate leaders, policy makers, government officials and academia members to discuss emerging themes in the world of information and communications technology.
WCIT 2014, "Building the Digital Age Together," will feature a high level conference program, business-to-business meetings, innovation showcases and other opportunities for regional and international businesses to attract potential investors.
Some of the conference speakers are Robert Elliot Kahn, creator of the TCP/IP protocol; John Higgins, Director of Digital Europe; UNAM Institute of Physics Research Professor, Ana María Cetto; Lead Economist in the Development Research Group of the World Bank, John S. Wilson; and Intel Corporation Vice President, Vida Ilderem among others.
Themes to be addressed will include hot topics in information and communications technology, industry trends and practices, legal, political and economic trends, and mechanisms to reduce the gap between society and information technologies.
With major initiatives under way to promote Internet connectivity in Guadalajara, which is striving to turn itself into a "Smart City" and one of the world's leading centers of digital creation, and in other cities throughout Mexico, the Expo Guadalajara Convention Center is the perfect venue for the WCIT 2014.
