"Facebook, the most important social network in the world, now has 51 million registered users in Mexico, who each spend an average of eight to 10 hours a month on the platform," according to Jorge Ruiz Escamilla, CEO of Facebook Mexico.
During the presentation of the new PMD Facebook platform, designed to optimize the results of social media campaigns, the executive said that each registered user in Mexico has an average of 250 friends on Facebook.
The new Facebook PMD platform - Preferred Marketing Developer - relates companies with a large number of Facebook users, using what is called "custom audience." The company can connect to Facebook and locate potential customers from among users who have similarities with current customers in the company’s database.
PMD works as a bridge between companies interested in Facebook as an advertising platform, and also between these companies and the 51 million active Mexican users.
During his presentation, the director of Facebook Mexico said that this new platform seeks to increase efficiency and achieve business objectives with technology tools, through effective online advertisement campaigns.
