City Ready to Rebuild the Rio Cuale Island Stairs
Puerto Vallarta's Directorate of Infrastructure and Services is ready to rebuild the stairs that lead to the Rio Cuale Island, which collapsed three months ago, during the rainy season. The executive project will require an investment of $1,52,738 pesos in a plan that includes a ramp for easy access to the island for seniors, people with disabilities, and families with young children in strollers. According to the head of Infrastructure and Services, Héctor Chaires Muñoz, the plan has already been presented to the
Asociación de Locatarios de la Isla del Cuale (Cuale Island Tenants Association,) and the financial resources to perform the work are already being managed by the municipal government. The rehabilitation of the stairs will provide universal access to the Rio Cuale Island, which is home to about 35 established businesses including restaurants, clothing and artisan stores, as well as dozens of permanent vendor stands.
