PV Bomberos Aid South Shores Emergency Response

February 11, 2015

A big Thank You to the PV Fire Department for providing these important classes to the south bay beach communities. Two more First Aid classes will be held soon, one in Yelapa and another in Quimixto.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Alejandro Reyes, First Aid Instructor for the Puerto Vallarta Fire Department, recently taught a first aid class in Quimixto as part of the first phase of training to better prepare communities on the southern shores of Banderas Bay to respond to accidents and medical emergencies that may occur on their beaches.

This is part of the developing of a new coordinated First Response system between the south beaches and the new Community Health Clinic in Boca de Tomatlan, which will coordinate with the health clinic in Yelapa in serving the pueblos from Pizota north to Boca de Tomatlan.

Medical equipment for First Response was delivered to Boca de Tomatlan, Quimixto, Las Animas and Yelapa last July through a grant coordinated by the Sister City Santa Barbara, CA and a group of Rotary Clubs in California.

Two more classes in First Aid certification will be held soon - one for the community of Quimixto and the other in Yelapa.

A big Thank You goes out to the Puerto Vallarta Fire Department for providing these important classes to the south bay beach communities.
