New York – As part of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board's innovative public relations campaign, the destination hosted a group of seven travel bloggers from February 18-22 to promote its eco-tourism and LGBT offerings to the US and Canadian markets.
Coordinated by Latitude, the board's PR agency in the United States and Canada, during the week of the press trip, participants posted on their different social media sites using the #pvpresstrip hashtag, including Twitter, Facebook posts and Instagrams reaching over 800,000 direct followers with more than 1.4 million impression. Further coverage of the destination will be provided on the bloggers' sites in the upcoming weeks further reaching their niche readers.
The bloggers participated in two agendas, each designed to showcase the diverse tourism infrastructure found in Puerto Vallarta.
Adventure and ecological bloggers from Stay Adventourous, Gina Zammit, and GoAdventureMom were hosted by the Barceló Puerto Vallarta Hotel and experienced a Bird Watching Tour by Ecotours de México, a River Expedition at Canopy River, a Whale Watching Tour by Eco Explorer, and a visit to Estero El Salado Urban Estuary.
In addition they visited Yelapa, took walking tours of Puerto Vallarta's Downtown and Romantic Zones, and dined at Ocho Tostadas and Angelina's Garden beach club.
LGBT bloggers from Best Gay Cities, Best Gay Travel Guides and Out Traveler were hosted by Puerto Vallarta staple hotel, Blue Chairs, and participated in Puerto Vallarta's Viva Tequila Expereince, the Gay Vallarta Bar Hopping Tour, the GO GAY! Jungle Zip line Adventure, and Spa treatments at Marriott Casa Magna's OHTLI Spa.
Participants also experienced Puerto Vallarta's culinary offerings at Costa Sur Resort & Spa, Rivera del Rio, Sapphire Ocean Club, Villa Mercedes and The Red Cabbage, No Way José!, Taste, 116 Pulpito Gastro Club, and Barcelona Tapas restaurants. They also visited Las Animas' Los Tacho's Beach Club.
