Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On Wednesday, March 18th, some of Puerto Vallarta's finest men will compete in 'What A Drag!' - PV's 1st annual drag competition for straight men - to raise money and awareness for victims of domestic violence.
The fun starts at 7:00 pm at Act II Entertainment Stages with an opening reception/cocktail party, with hors d'oeuvres provided by No Way José! and Fusion restaurants and served by Jim Lee Events' specially "decorated" servers.
The competition begins at 8:00 pm, with contestants including such notables as Sean Moore (Nacho Daddy), Conner Watts (Los Muertos Brewing Company), Karl Griffin (Casa Isabel), Fast Eddie (Eddie's on the River), and Nick from Steve's Sports Bar, who has just joined the straight guys who are bravely and brazenly standing up in drag against domestic violence.
Also competing are Phil Gibbons Smyth, Paul Flippen, Bert Ramirez and Mark Schneider. These men are standing up against violence towards women, and all proceeds raised will benefit the Banderas Bay Women's Shelter. International Relief Teams from San Diego, CA have pledged to match all donations up to a total of $10,000 USD.
The competition includes talent, evening wear and Q & A. Come watch these brave straight men, who have cast aside their boots for high heels to compete for the 'Miss What A Drag' crown.
The 'What A Drag' steering committee, Ray Vallarta, Jim Lee, Freda Thompson, Pat Carey, and Vicki Steuteville, invites everyone to come out and enjoy what promises to be a hilarious evening.
Tickets cost $400 pesos for premium seating or $300 pesos for general admission and can be purchased online at vallartatickets.com or at the Act II Stages Box Office, Basilio Badillo & Insurgentes #300 in Old Town.
