Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Earlier this month, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board promised to increase its work in the promotion of the city's downtown and South Side areas, incorporating promotions, public relations, and advertising of the zones' hotels and unique attractions.
Downtown Puerto Vallarta (El Centro)
Puerto Vallarta's downtown area is considered the heart of the city - and it is a great place to explore on foot. Along with its quaint cobble stoned streets, white-washed houses, wrought-iron balconies and red-tiled roofs, it is home to most of Puerto Vallarta's finest restaurants, art galleries and Mexican crafts markets, as well as designer boutiques.
The city's famous Malecón (boardwalk) lines the beach all along this area and Los Arcos (Arches), across the street from the town's main square, regularly holds open-air concerts, dance performances and fireworks displays over the Bay.
Vallarta's South Side (La Zona Romantica)
The Romantic Zone is where Puerto Vallarta comes to life! With Los Muertos' white sand beach, sunsets over beautiful Banderas Bay, and the lush tropical jungle of the Sierra Madre mountains as a backdrop, the South Side of Vallarta is as colorful and diverse as the people who live here.
The opportunities for shopping, sightseeing, and entertainment in the Zona Romantica are too numerous to mention. Boasting a relaxing atmosphere, sidewalk cafes and beachside restaurants, live music and a vibrant nightlife, this area of Vallarta has lots of fun and interesting things to see and do.
El Centro and Los Muertos Beach are also home to many of Puerto Vallarta most unique boutique hotels, providing guests alternative one-of-a-kind stays.
Whatever you decide to do, you are sure to have an unforgettable vacation in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!
