Monterrey, Mexico - Seeking to expand its distribution channel of beer in Mexico, Grupo Modelo recently announced the launch of a new mobile application. The company and its flagship brand Bud Light present ModeloNow, a platform for e-commerce to order beer at home in northern Mexico.
The initiative had its beginnings last year, and has successfully passed the pilot. The service offers no-cost shipping and a wide variety of beer brands through a smart phone, tablet or personal computer.
"With ModeloNow, consumers will not only buy the best brands of beer, such as Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Stella Artois, Bud Light, Modelo Especial, and Bud Light Ritas, but also enjoy the convenience of home delivery with timely and quality service," said Grupo Modelo CEO, Ricardo Tadeu.
"We are betting on the digitization of the consumer. We are anticipating a future in which people will purchase more and more items through their phone and mobile applications, to receive them within minutes," said the director during the press conference.
Moreover, Modelo announced it will use the new platform to offer exclusive access and tickets to concerts and sporting events sponsored by the company.
"We will give away 100 tickets for the Bud Light Hellow Fest, exclusive access to Bud Light Sensation, and travel to enjoy NFL games or UFC fights. This is a great opportunity for our consumers to try the service, fall in love, and win great prizes," said Nicolas Mamboury, Director of Bud Light in Mexico.
Anheuser-Busch debuted its new Bud Light delivery app, called the Bud Light Button, in Washington, D.C., earlier this year.
