Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On Saturday, February 6 at 6:30 pm, the Fundación Cultural Vallarta (Puerto Vallarta Cultural Foundation) will host a gala dinner and show in honor of Jalisco-born sculptor, painter, dancer and choreographer, Rafael Zamarripa.
Considered one of Mexico's most prominent contemporary artists, Zamarripa was the first artist to install a sculpture on the Puerto Vallarta Malecón. At the age of 18 Zamarripa created "El Niño Sobre el Caballo de Mar" (The Boy on the Seahorse), also known as "El Caballito" (The Little Horse), which has become internationally recognized as an icon of Puerto Vallarta.
This is a unique opportunity for locals and foreigners to honor Rafael Zamarripa - who has contributed so much to our destination that he not only holds the keys to the city, but has also been given the honor of being named a "Distinguished Visitor" - while enjoying an elegant and refined soiree like no other ever organized in Puerto Vallarta that includes:
• A three-course gourmet dinner
• New Continental Mariachi in concert
• "Tango Excerpts" by Maria Luisa Tamez-Mezzosoparno
• A performance by the University of Colima Folkloric Ballet
• A benefit auction of art works by Rafael Zamarripa
All of this in the beautiful waterfront atmosphere of Pier 3 at the Puerto Vallarta Cruise Ship Port. (Located at Boulevard Francisco Medina Ascencio #4 in the Hotel Zone.)
Tickets cost $1,039 pesos per person and are available at Galerías Vallarta, Vallarta OPINA, and online through Eventbrite.
