Pope Francis is set to step foot on Mexican soil this weekend for his latest trip to the Americas - his third in the last two years – and Twitter is prepared for fans to get their message across with a new set of emojis.
The social media company revealed a new set of images and hashtags to celebrate the pontiff's first trip to North America in 2016.
Four hashtags will mark the four cities Francis will visit – Juarez (#PapenCDJ), Mexico City (#PapaenDCmx), Chiapas (#PapaenCHPS) and Michoacan (#PapaenMich). A fifth hashtag - #PapaenMex – will be for his trip from February 12-17.
All have an emblematic emoji representing the cities. For the #ParaenMex, it will have the Pope's face over a Mexican flag while the hashtag for Mexico City will have an image of the Angel of Independence, the victory column that commemorates the centennial of the beginning of the country's War of Independence.
The other emojis will be of the cathedrals in the various cities.
Among his various stops in Mexico, Francis is scheduled to meet with the country's indigenous community in Chiapas, the Cereso prison in Juarez, and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City.
