The second Saturday in June is Global Wellness Day under the premise that "One day can change your whole life." This year the celebration falls on June 11th and the Riviera Nayarit is more than ready for it. "We'd like to extend an invitation to locals and visitors alike to go outside and take a walk, run, do some yoga, Stand Up Paddle or surf or jump on a bike: the idea is for families to be as active as possible and share it all on our social media outlets," said Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau. To help promote physical, mental and emotional health, the Four Seasons Punta Mita Resort's Fitness expert, will lead a weekend dedicated to wellbeing from June 9-11. It will include several different free activities such as SUP yoga lessons, box camps, salsa dancing lessons, foot-golf, healthy cooking classes and even a specialty program for the little ones. One of the top attractions is a yoga class at Hole 3B, the famous "Tail of the Whale." The St Regis also has activities open to the public on June 11th, including beach yoga with Nayarani, a zumba class with César Espinosa and 3 and 5K races on the beach. They will also hold a cooking workshop with Chef Yogui, who explains the balance between health, energy and the right foods.

About 32 teams from 17 public schools in Puerto Vallarta are expected to participate in the Fut 7 interscholastic soccer tournament this weekend, an event sponsored by the Municipal Institute for Youth Support (IMAJ). The director of the municipal agency, Diego Armando Nava Maeda explained that this competition is generated from the Actívate initiative, one of the aspects of the 'Youth for the Puerto Vallarta We Want' project, which encourages PV kids to adopt a healthier lifestyle through participation in a variety of sports and physical activities. He explained that in this case, he worked closely with the Municipal Education Department to reach schools located in rural and urban areas, as the initiative also seeks to generate greater coexistence among student communities. The games will be played in two shifts, on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday the 12th, beginning at 9 am on the Soccer Vallarta field, Avenida Politécnico Nacional No. 294, in Colonia Educación. He noted he received an excellent response from all of the educational institutions, who in some cases will be participating with two teams, and others with one team of students playing both the morning and afternoon shifts. The games will be played on an elimination basis, and the winning teams will vie for the top spots.
New Rules Ease Visa Requirements for Visitors to Mexico
Mexico recently expanded the list of individuals who can visit Mexico without a visa. Now anyone who holds an unexpired visa or is a permanent resident of the United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, or a Schengen member country may visit Mexico for up to 180 days without a visa as a non-remunerated visitor. Non-remunerated visitors may carry out any activity – including work – as long as they are paid outside of Mexico. This new rule renders nationals who would otherwise need a visa to enter Mexico exempt from this requirement as long as they are able to present proof of permanent residence in or an unexpired visa of the United States, Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, or a Schengen country. According to
The National Law Review, there's a full list of countries,
