Riviera Nayarit, Mexico - The National Water Commission (Conagua) announced Saturday that the XII National Clean Beaches Convention, which was set to take place June 22-25, 2016 in Nuevo Vallarta, has been postponed due to conflicting schedules with the Federal Government.
The communiqué emphasized that it has not been cancelled. According to the email received from Conagua:
"The XII Clean Beaches Convention has been postponed until further notice; due to the importance of this event, the President of the Republic, Enrique Peña Nieto, will do us the honor of presiding over the inauguration ceremony and giving the opening speech. The new date has not been set, but once it is on the agenda everyone will be informed."
This is the first time a sitting president will assist this type of event in the twelve years of this convention's existence, and what better place to hold it than in the Riviera Nayarit, the country's leading destination for clean beaches?
The locale, the program and everything else already in place will continue as programmed, including registration for those wishing to attend, which is available on the official website. (Attendance is limited.)
