Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Members of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board (FIDETUR) went to San Diego last week to participate in a trade show hosted by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), a not-for profit association that is internationally acclaimed for acting as a catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia Pacific region.
It is worth noting how important travel from this region of the United States is to Mexico - and Puerto Vallarta in particular - which made the participation of this destination essential to the trade show's success.
While Puerto Vallarta has a recognized and well-earned reputation as an excellent travel destination for various segments, participating agents showed a lot of interest in the new offerings this city has to entice their customers; and, as the theme proposed, in learning "what lies behind the brochures" - beginning with why PV is considered one of the world's friendliest cities.
According to the CPTM, participating PATA travel agents felt that, given the efficient strategies being developed by the Tourism Board of Puerto Vallarta, they now have enough information to make more sales for the 2016-2017 winter season, which portends a very positive outlook for their businesses and therefore for this city. Another advantage is that Alaska Airlines now offers three weekly flights from San Diego to Puerto Vallarta.
The CPTM also stressed the importance of the new Cross Border Xpress, which joins the San Diego and Tijuana airports. With the new Cross Border Xpress air terminal making it easier for San Diego travelers to fly out of the international airport in Tijuana, and Volaris offering daily Tijuana-PVR flights, getting to Puerto Vallarta from California is more affordable - yet another reason to visit this Mexican Pacific vacation destination.
