According to Trivago's Summer 2016 Travel Trends report, there has been a significant increase in interest in Mexico travel, with Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Puerto Vallarta all in the top 10 most recommended Mexican vacation destinations.

In regards to Puerto Vallarta, the guide says the best time to visit the city is between April and June, when hotel rates are most affordable and the weather is tropically perfect, with warm and sunny days (86°F/30°C) and cool (77°F/26°C) and comfortable nights.

The Travel Advice Guide mentions that the most popular month to visit Puerto Vallarta is July, although the best hotel rates are offered in September, while the highest are from December to March, the destination's "high season."
