Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra (PVCO) will be offering two concerts March 11 and 12, featuring Grammy award winning cellist Donald Moline playing the Boccherini Cello Concerto in B flat. Mr. Moline was a member of the Chicago Symphony for 39 years, and has performed as a soloist and with the Chicago Symphony in many countries.
These two concerts will also include several romantic period favorites by Offenbach, Strauss, and von Supe. The first concert will be on March 11 at the American School of Puerto Vallarta, Albatros 129, Marina Vallarta; and the second on March 12th at the Salon Empresarial, Paso los Cocoteros 67, Nuevo Vallarta. Both concerts begin at 8:00 pm. Admission is $200 pesos for adults, $100 for students and children, kids under 5 free.
On March 19, ensembles drawn from the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra will be offering a repeat performance of the sold out chamber music concert offered on Isla Cuale in January. Hear works by Corelli, Mozart, Beethoven as well as modern favorites performed by string trio/quartets, and wind ensembles. This performance will take place in Nuevo Vallarta at La Parilla de Villa, Av. Ingreso Norte a Nuevo Vallarta #220, at 7:30 pm. Drinks and food from the restaurant's menu will be available.
PVCO is a 12 year old symphonic orchestra whose musicians from over eight different countries include retirees, working professionals, and advanced students. PVCO is hosted by IAM PV (Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta), a Mexican association civil that offers music instruction in symphonic, jazz, and traditional Mexican genres to both starters and experienced, kids and adults.
