Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On December 17, Lime, the largest and most innovative company of shared electric scooters in the world, rolled out operations in Nuevo Vallarta and Marina Vallarta, making Vallarta-Nayarit the first beach destination in Mexico to offer this service.
During the first phase of the mobility project, the scooters, which have a capacity for rides of up to 50 kilometers for urban use and can reach a maximum speed of 25 km/hr, will gradually be added to more streets in Jalisco and Nayarit, possibly changing the way residents and visitors get around this popular beach vacation destination.
"By systematically deploying electric scooters in Vallarta-Nayarit, we join environmental actions to improve mobility conditions with a sustainable alternative that reduces pollution and vehicle saturation," said Alexander Wieland, general manager of Lime Mexico.
The Lime app, which can be downloaded for iOS and android devices, allows consumers to find available Lime-S e-scooters using GPS technology. The scooters cost 20 pesos per unlock plus three pesos for every minute of the ride, which can be paid via the app.
To promote the use of Lime scooters in the Banderas Bay area, the promo code "LimeVallarta" is being offered during the company's first six months of operations in the region, which will give users four free trips of up to 10 minutes each.
