The 'Fittest Woman on Earth' Inspired Puerto Vallarta

August 22, 2019

While in Puerto Vallarta, Tia-Clair Toomey gave a motivational talk at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort's Champions Sport Bar, where she shared her athletic experiences and achievements with attendees.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - While on vacation in Puerto Vallarta last week, Tia-Clair Toomey, aka the 'Fittest Woman On Earth,' invited athletes, sports enthusiasts and the general public to spend a day training with her.

Toomey hails from Australia where she has quickly risen to become a weightlifting champion and CrossFit Games athlete at just 26 years old. She competed in - and won - the CrossFit Games in 2017 and 2018, and took home the gold in the 58kg women's event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. This month, she was crowned tri-champion at the 2019 CrossFit Games, held August 1-4 in Madison, Wisconsin.

The first woman to be a three-time champion at the CrossFit Games, Toomey has written a book, "How I Became The Fittest Woman On Earth, My Story So Far." The book was sponsored by Rogue, Reebok, and Tru Protein. She is also featured in two Netflix documentaries: Fittest On Earth, A Decade of Fitness, and Redeemed Dominant.

Currently living in Tennessee with her husband, Tia has traveled the world, from England, Italy, and Belgium, to Switzerland, and South Africa. Last week, she experienced her first Mexican vacation, choosing Puerto Vallarta as the destination because it is not only a great place to train, practice or learn a new sport, but also for its incredible natural beauty and eco-tourism attractions.

While here, Toomey offered a private seminar on August 17 at Pike CrossFit, 25 people spent 'A Day With Tia.' This six-hour, intensive training showcased her technical, nutritional, and mental knowledge with respect to her success in training. She has taught similar seminars in England, Belgium, Australia, and Italy, and this was her first in Latin America.

Later, Tia gave a motivational talk at Champions Sport Bar at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort, where she shared her athletic experiences and achievements with attendees. Afterwards, an autograph signing session gave participants an opportunity to ask questions, and visit with the athlete.

Living a healthier lifestyle and exercising more frequently is easy in Puerto Vallarta, where visitors can choose from a wide variety of outdoor activities, ranging from power-walking or running along the Malecon and hiking or riding a bike in the mountains to playing a game of tennis or a round of golf. Many hotels offer fully-equipped gyms - and the Marriott even has an Olympic size swimming pool.
