Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - American Airlines will operate a new daily direct flight from the Los Angeles International Airport to the Lic. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport, increasing the airlift between Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit with the top place of origin for tourists traveling to the destination from the United States.
The flight is scheduled to begin operations on December 15, 2016 and is subject to government approval, but it's already open for reservations.
"The increase in airlift to the Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta is excellent news and we'll keep working on getting more of this type of news," said Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We know about another couple of flights that are in the process of being confirmed, and we really hope to be announcing those soon."
This year there have already been announcements for new direct flights from Chicago on Frontier Airlines, from Los Angeles on Southwest Airlines and another from Poland with Rainbow Tours aboard LOT Polish Airlines planes. Last year the destination confirmed four new flights.
