Riviera Nayarit, Mexico - The Marina Fonatur in the historic port of San Blas is set to welcome the 59th San Blas International Sport Fishing Tournament from June 27-29, 2019.
With a registration fee of 25,000 pesos per boat, and prizes that far exceed that amount - including fishing equipment, boat motors, cash prizes, and a raffle for a late-model car - this tournament is considered the best of its kind on the Mexican Pacific.
Organized by the Tepic Sport Fishing Club, the San Blas International Sport Fishing Tournament features competitions in three categories: sailfish, marlin and dorado.
Every year, the top winner in each category is entered into the "Hall of Fame." This year they'll be welcoming anglers from Nayarit, Jalisco, Sinaloa, Guanajuato and Veracruz among other states, as well as sportsmen from the U.S. and Canada.
The Historic Port of San Blas is teeming with fish that more than meet the requirements for this competition as well as the ideal infrastructure to handle the tournament.
According to event organizers, "This is the best tournament on the Mexican Pacific, not only because of the prizes or the number of participating boats, but also because of the ambiance that is enjoyed in San Blas, which is a token of the friendliness and the services that can be found in Riviera Nayarit."
