Puerto Vallarta - With April quickly approaching, Semana Santa and Semana Pascua are just around the corner as well. Of course, this brings a whole lot more people on vacation and happy times. Unfortunately, along with this influx comes more traffic accidents, the urgent need for blood and heavy loads on all area Emergency Rooms.
Please drive (and walk!) carefully, pull over when you hear and see an ambulance with the sirens on, consider donating blood and take care of yourself!
For the month of April, Cornerstone will be cutting back on some of their speakers programs and other Community Activities, but look for some exciting new topics and clinics coming up in May! In April they will be continuing:
SKIN CLINIC - Have a suspicious mole or marking? Have yourself checked from the top of your head to the bottoms of your feet for cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions by an oncologist. Cost: $200 pesos.
MAMMOGRAMS - The National Cancer Institute, the American Cancer Society and the American College of Radiologists now recommend annual mammograms for women over 40 years of age. Due to the community's tremendous response, Cornerstone Hospital will continue offering this service at the special price of just $500 pesos.
GYN CHECK UPS - Full gynecological screening including pap smear, vaginal ultrasound and pelvic exam. Hospital Cornerstone's special price continues at $500 pesos, so don't delay, call for an appointment today!
CHECK YOUR INSURANCE - There are so many different types of insurance, one never knows what works where! Meet with Hospital Cornerstone's Insurance Specialist and see how your specific insurance applies at Cornerstone. Consultations are free of charge and by appointment only. DEPRESSION SUPPORT GROUP - Mental Health Therapist Sueanne Hagemann Lineberger's ongoing support group continues this month, meeting every other Thursday evening at 7 pm. These free group sessions focus on ways to deal with depression and explore options for treatment. Please email sueannelineberger@gmail.com for more information.
