There is an URGENT need for all types of blood in the Banderas Bay area. Please consider during this holiday season to give the gift of life.

The blood bank, located on the 2nd floor at San Javier Marina Hospital, across from the Maritime Terminal in Puerto Vallarta, opens at 8 am.

The Blood Bank adheres to strict hygiene regulations similar to U.S. standards. Guidelines to donate blood are as follows:

• 18-62 years of age
• In good health
• Fast for 8-12 hours prior to donating
• No smoking for 8 hours prior
• No alcohol 12-24 hours prior to donating
• No previous drug abuse (with needles), no homosexual activity, no prostitution.
(These are the rules of the blood bank here.)
• No medications for 8 hours. No aspirin for 72 hours.
• Not menstruating
• Not breast feeding.

Some medications will prohibit you from being a donor. Please contact me with any questions you may have at (322) 222-9638, 044-322-107-7007, Nextel 145-6912 or via email at pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com.
