Ralph Nader

Ralph Nader, the aging consumer-activist whose independent run for President in 2000 cost Al Gore the Presidency, wants to be the spoiler again.

Nader is launching yet another third-party campaign for president, announcing the run Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Nader says most Americans are disenchanted with the Democratic and Republican parties and want a President who is not tied to corporate interests.

The independent candidate claims not one of the presidential contenders address ways to stem corporate crime and Pentagon waste and promote labor rights.

Nader ran as a third-party candidate in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections and is hated by many Democrats who saw him as a spoiler and say his candidacy in 2000 cost the party the election by taking votes from Al Gore in the razor-thin Florida contest.
