President Felipe Calderón (C) launches the Cement Floor Program for the poorest municipalities in Campeche.

Campeche - On tour in the state of Campeche, President Felipe Calderón declared that government will continue promoting public policies with a high social content and building works that will really help people, and above all, supporting the poorest families in the country.

The President launched the Cement Floor Program for the five poorest municipalities in the state. Hopelchén, Palizada, Tenabo, Calakmul and Candelaria, so that all the houses there will have cement floors by the end of this year.

In this respect, said the President, government has pledged to build 14,000 cement floors in Campeche in 2008, in other words, three times more than those laid over the past three years, which totaled five thousand.

In this remote part of the country, the President also handed over the premises of the Community Center where young people can meet to do their homework. The center will also serve as a meeting place for promoting educational and cultural activities. "Rest assured that we are here to help, work and push the country forward." We really want things to help people, which is why we are supporting families, particularly the poorest families in Campeche and Mexico,” he explained.

Earlier, in Escárcega, President Calderón inaugurated Daycare Center No. meaning that nationwide, over 187,000 children are being looked after during the day, meaning that at least 150,000 women have enough time to work, since their children are being taken care of.
