| | Riviera Nayarit, the 160 kilometers of coastline in the State of Nayarit that stretches from Nuevo Vallarta to San Blas, is fast becoming known as one of the best fishing destinations in the Americas.

Scheduled to be held at the new Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle from July 10-12, 2008, this year's tournament features a first place purse of $10,000 USD in each category for marlin and tuna catches.
With anglers from around the world vying to beat the Mexican Pacific Coast Marlin record of 710 pounds, set by Alejandro Herrera during the inaugural Riviera Nayarit Marlin and Tuna International Fishing Tournament in 2007, this years event promises some hot and heavy competition.
The warm, blue waters around Riviera Nayarit and the Bay of Banderas are fast becoming known for superb fishing.
