So you wanna be a star? Click HERE to learn how you can be seen by anyone, anywhere and at any time on Puerto Vallarta's Liveliest Website, BanderasNews.com.

For entertaining video reports covering everything from the hottest places to eat, drink and shop to information about attractions, events, and charitable organizations, be sure to watch Laura Gelezunas twice a month on The Banderas Beat.
The Big Boats are Back: Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas docked at the marina on Thursday, June 25th. It has been several months since cruise ships stopped in the bay. A big loss for the local economy every week. The Carnival Splendor did not stop this week due to Hurricane Andres. Business owners anxiously await its arrival next Wednesday.

Turtle Power: During June, activities are underway for marine turtle protection. This is the nesting season and areas are designated as safe places for egg laying and hatching. Various organizations throughout the bay guard the turtle nests and none receive government support. They exist through private contributions and volunteers. People come from all over the world to help. For the next three weeks a group from Finland will be guarding nest sites. For more information call (332) 225-6940.

Promoting Puerto Vallarta: According to the Tourism Trust President, Gabriel Igartua, it is everyone’s responsibility, not just the convention and visitors bureau. He goes on to say anyone benefiting from tourist monies should do everything in their power to assist in promoting the area. This is where the internet becomes a valuable tool by engaging potential visitors with video and great offers.

Delicious Deal: At Kaiser Maximilian you can enjoy the Early Bird Special with excellent prices on appetizers, entrees and their beautiful desserts. Dine Monday through Saturday from 1-7 pm. Select starters are $69 pesos, main courses $169 and sweet endings at $59 pesos. The Early Bird deal runs until July 31st.

Ready to Raffle: On July 4th at the Twisted Rose in Bucerias, dance to live Salsa music and take the chance on winning some great prizes. The $30 peso ticket price includes your raffle number. Prizes include trips around the bay, art, surf lessons and meals from various restaurants. Cut the rug starting at 8 pm. All the monies raised are for the local non-profit, PEACE.

And the Beat Goes On: On July 1st don’t forget to watch another special edition of Banderas Beat. Laura Gelezunas continues her in-depth look at the current economic crises.
