Costa Verde International School Co-Founder Anne Ackerman Says "The kids are still so excited about their experience with James, they are still talking about it even the toddlers in preschool were touched...it was amazing experience for everyone."
Professional surfer and recipient of the 2007 John Kelly Environmental Achievement Award James Pribram traveled to Sayulita Mexico November 8-13th to educate students from The Costa Verde International School (CVIS) about the importance of preserving our ocean's and beaches. Located just north of Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita is a popular surf destination and CVIS is Mexico's first green school.

While James was on campus, he visited each grade, sharing his experiences as a pro surfer and "Eco Warrior" traveling the globe to help raise awareness about the environment as well as sharing with the kids how they can participate in ocean preservation locally. CVIS 4th, 5th and 6th grade students participated in an essay contest and read them aloud. After declaring there would not just be one winner, James took all the student writers surfing in the afternoon. The students received posters and stickers and gifts from Lost, XS energy drinks, Boost mobile and the Surfrider Foundation.

"The ocean has taught me respect, and shown me with dedication and desire, I can attain my goals in and out of the water," says Pribram. "...Being able to educate students in such a progressive school environment about the importance of preservation is the best way I can give back to something that has given me so much"

Renowned surf, photographer & global adventurer Geoff Ragatz is traveling with James documenting the trip for an upcoming article.
